Throughout the battle you can move around the screen, this is necessary as some enemies can only be hit from certain angles, and some have weak points. The Dragon can also use special abilites, which take up both you "Berserk Power" and sometimes multiple sections of the attack bar. Your dragon can attack using a homing laser that deals damage to multiple enemies, and so can Edge using a gun which does more damage, but only to a single enemy. The game features an attack bar similar to the one in FF7, where it must charge up for your character to attack, but PDS features 3 bars, meaning more attacking on your part.

When in battle, you and your dragon are the only things you can control. for most of the game, you fly with your dragon, and have 360 degrees of motion, you can move in every direction, unlike Panzer Saga's predecessors which were all rail shooters. Gameplay - Panzer Saga is somewhat different to the standard RPG gameplay of the time. Overall the story in Panzer Dragoon Saga is great by any measure, and while the game itself only lasts around 17-20 hours, it has more meaning then many longer RPGs. The main characters are also interesting, PDS gives its characters deeper motivations then just "destroy the world", or "steal a powerful artifact", which so many RPGs do.

Panzer Saga managed to feel both lonely and populated at the same time, by cutting down on the amount of worthless characters with almost nothing to say (something present in many RPGs), while increasing the amount of people with something useful to say. the story of Panzer Saga is amazing, you will not encounter many figures, but the characters you do meet, you become attached to, you want to know their fates and the fate of Edge. as he comes out of the site, he finds his comrades dead and the girl taken by a mysterious man and his fleet of airships. when a monster attacks, Edge hurries into the site and discovers a girl embedded in a wall. Story - The story of the Panzer Saga focuses on the young soldier Edge, who is sent to guard an archeological site being excavated for ancient powerful weapons. Panzer Dragoon Saga, by Sega, released late in the Saturn's lifespan in 1998, was the game to represent what the Saturn was about ,showcasing its capabilities and giving the Final Fantasy games a run for their money By Darkman2007 | Review Date: DecemFollowing the release of Final Fantasy 7 on the Playstation, every current system needed an RPG which could compete, while the N64 had the the Legend of Zelda (if that can be called an RPG), the Saturn lacked a truly epic RPG of its own, Grandia was once a contestant, but sadly, it stayed in Japan ,and was later ported to the PS1.
